As we mentioned a few weeks ago, the BBC is in Monterey this week and next to film the BBC and PBS collaboration called Big Blue Live. The show will showcase the marine life of Monterey Bay including whales, seals, sea otters, dolphins and pelicans. The show will air three evenings here in the states from Aug. 31 to Sept. 2.
While diving in Monterey last week, BBC’s Steve Backshall was thrilled to dive with a pod of sea lions. A YouTube video posted yesterday shows him surrounded by the marine mammals, who definitely provide him with an authentic California diving experience.
