Fourth Element began in 1999 with an aim to design high-quality dive clothing. With backgrounds in design and human physiology, the founders spent their first year and a half researching designs and fabrics for a range of casual and technical diving clothing.

SURFACE∞ is fourth element’s newest wetsuit – designed for freediving, snorkeling and surface watersports and is the first in the dive industry to be made with certified sustainable natural rubber and recycled inner and outer linings.

After last year’s introduction of Thermocline, the world’s first wetsuit made using recycled marine waste, the introduction of the Surface∞ demonstrates Fourth Element’s commitment to making more environmentally responsible products.

Using Yulex®Pure, a 100% plant-based neoprene, the SURFACE∞ is lined with recycled polyester made from post-consumer plastic waste.  Seams have been bonded with water-based glue and blind stitched and – the mini-zip design offers outstanding freedom of movement and comfort from a suit designed to have minimal impact on the ocean.

Yulex® Pure is FSC® Certified, ultra-pure natural rubber made in the USA.  The plants are grown without an artificial irrigation system and the materials are processed with recycled water.  Even the waste plant material after rubber extraction are used as biomass fuel for electricity generation.

With minimal branding and using water-based inks, this suit is truly OceanPositive.
