A new autonomous underwater drone, aimed at scuba divers, is being developed by a French company who hopes to revolutionize underwater video.

The iBubble is an underwater, self-propelled housing that contains a GoPro camera system. By wearing a wirelessly linked bracelet, the drone follows the diver as he or she moves underwater, keeping the camera pointed at the diver using several different video filming modes. The modes can be switched with a touch of the bracelet. Its battery has a one-hour life underwater and can be easily swapped topside, and it can be taken as deep as 230 feet.

The iBubble is currently in development and there is currently no estimated price or official release date. More information can be found on iBubble’s website here.
