Only 1 week left to enter the 2014 SEA International Underwater Photo & Video Competition.
The Northern California Underwater Photographic Society is now accepting entries for the 49th Annual International Underwater Photo & Video Competition and the Bob Commer Award of Excellence in Underwater Photography. Over $25,000 in prizes will be awarded in July.
The competition is open to amateur photographers and videographers from around the world. Industry professionals, including those who teach underwater photography, and photo trip leaders, are not eligible to enter the SEA competition.
To enter, photographers and cinematographers must submit a complete online entry form, upload their images and videos and pay the entry fees before 11:59 p.m. PDT on June 30, 2014.
Entry fees are as follows:
– Competition Entrant Fee $10
– Photo and Videos are $5 per entry*
*Note: A maximum of five entries per category may be entered. Online entry forms, rules, and other details are available at sea.ncups.org/sea-2014-entry. The SEA 2014 competition will issue awards for the best work in underwater still categories including:
- Macro
- Wide Angle
- Underwater California
- Marine Conservation
- Creative
There are two video categories; Classic and Video Snapshots. The SEA 2014 competition Best of Show is awarded the prestigious Bob Commer Award of Photographic Excellence, in addition to a selected prize from the prize list! The Bob Commer Award consists of a trophy and a check for $500.00 USD.
As a very special incentive, all winning images will be shown at the opening of the 2014 Monterey Shootout Underwater Film Festival in Monterey, California. Award sponsors of the SEA 2014 competition donate prizes totaling over twenty five thousand dollars, which include SCUBA ecotourism resorts, travel agencies, luxury live-aboard dive boats, and SCUBA and photography equipment manufacturers. Previous competitions have brought in the finest still images and video entries from underwater photographers and videographers around the world!
Entry is Open on May 19, 2014, and Deadline for entry is June 30, 2014.
