Roddenberry Adventures, in partnership with NAUI Green Diver Initiative and sponsored by TUSA, Blue Steel Scuba, Intova, Tovatec, and Vivid-Pix, have just announced the winners in their 4th annual Trashy Diver Contest. The Trashy Diver Contests’ goal is to raise awareness about the issue of pollution in our local waterways, and the contest challenges all outdoor enthusiasts, scuba divers, beach combers, and water lovers alike to collect trash from any aquatic environment, above or below the water, and photograph the results. Entrants are eligible to win monthly prizes or amazing Grand Prizes.
The 2014 overall prize winner is Tom Thornton from Florida. Tom won a complete TUSA Scuba Gear Set with a Blue Steel Scuba Steel Tank, including a mask, snorkel, fins, BC, gauge, console, regulator, gear bag, Waterproof brand booties, gloves, and wetsuit.

Other winners include Kim Legarto from Philippines, who won the overall “Most Amount of Trash” award. His prize is a Star Trek Phaser II prop. The tires removed during his cleanup were recycled into ropes for securing mooring buoys.

The “Most Unique Piece of Trash” Winner was Nathaniel Klumb from Louisiana. He won a DiveQuest Dive at The Seas at Epcot® in Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. To win the prize, Nathaniel single-handedly removed a football tackling sled from the bayou.
