Blue Water Photo‘s annual SoCal shootout takes place this weekend, September 12-14. This weekend-long event is open to all divers and every level of photographer and videographer, with categories for wide-angle, macro, behavior, portrait (in categories for DSLR and compact cameras), and both edited and unedited video.
More than 14,000 prizes will be awarded, which include a trip to the Sea of Cortez on the Rocio Del Mar liveaboard, Sea & Sea YS-D1 strobes, a 4-night package for two at the Cortez Club in La Paz, a Recsea RX100 MKIII housing, and many more. (For a listing of all prizes, click here).
The shootout has several charter boat trips available for participants. These include a 2-day trip aboard the Peace, a Sunday trip aboard the Magician to Catalina, and a Sunday trip aboard the PacStar on a rigs and wreck trip. Divers can also dive on their own, taking photos anywhere underwater in Southern California (anywhere south of Point Conception and north of the Mexico border) between September 12-14. All entries are due by 11:59pm on Monday, September 15.
