Florida Keys / Los Angeles — Award-winning filmmaker David Marsh has announced that Frazier Nivens, acclaimed underwater cinematographer and Director of Cinematography, and Founder, President, and CEO of Ocean Imaging Productions, has joined the creative team for Marsh’s upcoming feature film, Sharing Air.

The film is adapted from the book Sharing Air, written by Jim Elliott, with the screenplay written by Marsh, who also serves as writer, director, and producer. Production is slated to begin in March 2026, with principal underwater photography taking place in the Florida Keys.

Nivens is internationally recognized as an award-winning underwater cinematographer, known for his technical mastery, cinematic storytelling, and deep respect for the marine environment. His body of work spans feature films, documentaries, and high-profile commercial projects, earning him widespread recognition within the global filmmaking community.

“During preproduction, I was doing my due diligence and searching for underwater cinematographers in the Florida Keys when the name Frazier Nivens kept rising to the top,” said Marsh. “His awards, experience, and body of work immediately stood out, but I had no idea if someone of his caliber would be interested in joining an independent film like Sharing Air.”

Marsh went on to describe the unlikely moment that brought Nivens onto the project.

“A week later, Jim Elliott and I were driving to the Keys when I mentioned we still needed an underwater DP (Director of Photography). Jim casually said, ‘Oh, we should call my friend Frazier Nivens.’ I couldn’t believe it. Moments later, Jim was on the phone and I found myself talking frame rates, lens choices, and scheduling with the very person I had just researched.”

The following day confirmed Marsh’s instincts.

“The next morning, we met at Frazier’s office, where I saw firsthand the awards he’s earned and the legacy he’s built. Frazier brings not only extraordinary technical skill, but deep cinematic instincts and a reverence for the underwater world. His involvement elevates Sharing Air in every way, and I’m honored to welcome him to our cast and crew as we prepare to begin production in March 2026.”

Sharing Air explores themes of human connection, survival, and the fragile relationship between people and the ocean, making Nivens’ expertise a natural fit for the project’s visual language.

Further casting and production announcements will be released in the coming months.
