On Friday, March 23, Kevin Lee’s expertise in underwater photography of Opisthobranchs (nudibranchs) was recognized by Chapman University. Six of his images, from the countries of Kenya, Philippines, South Korea, Antarctica and United States are now on permanent display in the Leatherby Library at Chapman University in Orange, CA.
Kevin Lee has traveled to all seven continents, and was recently named the Orange County Underwater Photographic Society (OCUPS) underwater photographer of the year. He resides in Fullerton, California and is an enthusiastic traveler, diver, and nudiphile (sea slugs). His adventures, in over 40 countries, include multiple treks to Mt. Everest Base Camp and atop Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest summit. Among his memorable experiences, he fondly recalls a warm hug from Mother Teresa and meeting the Dalai Lama.
Kevin’s images have been featured in magazines, newspapers, academic literature, and numerous dive-related publications and he has dived in below-freezing Antarctic waters in search of the perfect photo. Kevin’s stories and photos are regularly featured in California Diver Magazine (be sure to check out his story in our May/June 2012 issue titled “Solar Powered Sea Slugs”).
Kevin Lee resides in Fullerton, California and frequently dives SoCal waters. He shoots with a Nikon D 300 in a Sea and Sea housing with Sea and Sea strobes.
